Surgical treatment of renal tumors

Radical nephrectomy remains the mainstay of curative therapy for renal carcinoma. Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy is considered

a standard treatment for stage T1 and T2 renal carcinoma. Conveniently localized small tumors should be managed by partial resection

of the kidney. Technically demanding procedures should be performed at centers.
